Where to download
Black Forest Labs (BFL), the German company that makes the FLUX model family, distributes the weights for FLUX 3 Klein (full name FLUX 3 Image Klein) through Hugging Face. You can access the files at the Hugging Face repository of Black Forest Labs. The repository was created on October 13, 2026 (UTC), and BFL’s release notes and press coverage give October 15, 2026 as the release date.
The weights are open, but access is gated: you log in to Hugging Face and accept the FLUX Kommunity License v1.0 on the repository page before the files can be downloaded. The steps above walk through it.
Per the model card summary, the FLUX Kommunity License v1.0 allows non-commercial use. Individuals and companies with annual revenue under US$5 million may also run the model in production and use generated images commercially. The model card states that this license does not by itself permit commercial fine-tuning or redistribution of the model. Because the full LICENSE.md text requires a login and was not reviewed for this summary, you must read the full text yourself before downloading. For more details on usage rules, see our license overview.
Unofficial Mirrors and This Website
Klein Studio (flux3klein.org) is an unofficial website. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Black Forest Labs. This website does not host, redistribute, or mirror the FLUX 3 Klein model weights.
We recommend that you only download the model files from BFL’s Hugging Face repository and avoid third-party mirrors. The model card says the license does not by itself allow redistribution of the model, so a copy elsewhere may not be permitted, and you cannot tell whether its files were changed.
If you want to test the model without downloading the weights to your own computer, you can use the Klein Studio generator on our home page. Our site runs FLUX 3 Klein through Black Forest Labs’ API and provides 3 free images per day per visitor at 1K resolution with no sign-up required.
What Else You Need to Run the Model
Downloading the main image model weights is only one part of a local setup. The model card and BFL documentation describe these parts of a local setup:
| Component | Details | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Image Model | 5.6 billion parameters | Download from the gated Hugging Face repository. |
| Text Encoder | Qwen3-VL-4B | Separate component paired with the 5.6B image model. |
| Prompt Upsampler | Prompt expander tool | Recommended by the model card; short prompts used directly give mediocre results. |
Set up this way, the model can generate images from text up to 4K resolution, edit images by instruction, combine up to 10 reference images, control layout with bounding-box coordinates, and render text inside images.
Next Steps: Hardware and Local Setup
Before you start a download, verify that your computer meets the hardware specifications. BFL’s documentation lists an NVIDIA RTX 3090 as the minimum GPU. However, ComfyUI’s documentation states that its INT8 version runs on GPUs with 8 GB of VRAM. For a full breakdown of system specs, read our VRAM and hardware requirements page.
Once you have confirmed your hardware and downloaded the files, you will need an interface to run them. Visit our ComfyUI setup guide for information on running the model locally. If you are using an Apple computer, note that we found no Mac or Apple Silicon support statement from Black Forest Labs as of October 16, 2026.
